  2. Supervise and guide Policy/Assistant Policy Officers, providing constructive feedback and coaching to ensure high-quality output.
  3. Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the development and execution of strategic policies and programmes, leveraging diverse perspectives and expertise.
  4. Conduct or commission research to support evidence-based policy development, analyzing data and trends to inform policy decisions.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including service users and partners, to inform policy and strategy, promoting collaboration and mutual understanding.
  6. Monitor the implementation and outcomes of policies and strategies, identifying areas for improvement and recommending adjustments.
  7. Stay informed on legislative and policy developments, reporting on their implications for the Council and adapting policies accordingly.
  8. Support partnership working and manage the Council's strategic partnership arrangements, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience in a policy role with a proven track record of success.
  2. Extensive experience in policy and strategy development within a relevant specialist area, with a strong understanding of legislative and policy frameworks.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  4. Proven track record of working with multi-agency partnerships and inter-agency collaboration, with a strong focus on building relationships and achieving shared goals.
  5. Strong experience in evidence-based policy development and performance monitoring, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and communicate complex information effectively.
