Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Yokogawa Electric Corporation, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring that we deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead commercial matters for planned projects, including contract administration, cost management, and risk assessment.
  • Develop and agree on a commercial strategy that achieves budget and maximizes profitability.
  • Manage commercial risk and opportunity, ensuring that we maximize our returns while minimizing losses.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure that commercial matters are aligned with the project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Manage contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
  • Proactively provide sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role within Construction, Design, and Management projects, preferably in the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors.
  • Working experience of NEC contracts.
  • Experience of commercially running multiple small projects or one project up to £50 Million.
  • A full UK driving licence.

We offer a competitive salary, company pension contribution up to 12.5% dependent upon criteria, private medical insurance, and healthcare scheme. This is a permanent position, with our offices based at Runcorn, Cheshire. We provide a healthy work-life balance through working from home possibilities (currently 3 days/week); however, there will be a requirement to travel to UK customer sites for each project.
