About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Workforce Management Specialist to join our team at Riverside Recruitment. As a Contract Labour Manager, you will oversee the contract workforce at a busy manufacturing site in Carlisle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate temporary workers on-site, ensuring they work effectively, adhere to health and safety guidelines, and stay motivated.
  • Collaborate with factory management to determine staffing needs and ensure recruitment campaigns are delivered on time and meet contract requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process to guarantee deadlines are met.
  • Monitor attendance, work quality, and productivity, addressing any issues promptly and helping workers succeed.
  • E nsure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Address problems quickly, whether it's a staffing gap or performance concern, to keep operations running smoothly.
  • B uild strong relationships with workers on-site and the factory team, serving as a key point of contact for concerns or questions.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing temporary or contract workers, ideally in a manufacturing environment, especially in food production or similar settings.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various individuals and build good working relationships.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities to think on your feet and find solutions to challenges.
  • Organisation and efficiency to manage scheduling, attendance, and paperwork.
  • Health and safety knowledge to maintain a safe work environment and understand relevant regulations.
  • A proactive attitude to handle pressure and get involved when needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the demands of the site, including meeting night shifts to maintain relationships.
