Early Careers and Workforce Development Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to support the development and delivery of early careers pathways and apprenticeship agendas within The Cumbria County Council. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, training, marketing, candidate attraction, and mentoring while contributing to the creation of a highly skilled workforce.
- Identify and Develop Opportunities: Collaborate with various services, Directorates, and maintained schools to identify and develop apprenticeship opportunities and pathways to employment, ensuring alignment with organisational policies and procedures.
- Recruitment and Induction Support: Support the recruitment, selection, induction, and development processes for apprentices, ensuring effective management of these processes.
- Promote Wellbeing and Development: Facilitate the wellbeing of apprentices by offering coaching support and contributing to their successful completion of their apprenticeship, guiding them towards employment or further education.
- Apprenticeship Frameworks: Assist in the commissioning and procurement of the Apprenticeship Framework, learning how to manage contracts, monitor performance, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Support Projects and Strategic Plans: Participate in the development and delivery of specialist areas or projects, supporting The Cumbria County Council's strategic plans and helping meet national and local targets for apprenticeship recruitment and progression.
