Registered Play Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Play Specialist to join our specialist service in Loughborough. Our service provides care and support for babies, children, and young people with serious and terminal conditions across the East Midlands.

As a Registered Play Specialist, you will be part of our outreach services, working on-site and within the local community to provide therapeutic and generic play and leisure activities for our service users. You will create meaningful and enjoyable memories in a safe and caring environment.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring all children have access to play and planning appropriate activities. You will also provide assistance, guidance, and leadership to the wider Play Team of 3, and support the team by overseeing all activities, promoting and maintaining good teamwork, and working alongside the Family Support Lead on any Employee Relation activities.

This is a hybrid role that includes on-site and community work. A driving license and access to a vehicle are therefore essential. You will work a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with some weekend working for events, such as Family Fun Days and the annual Christmas party.

Person Specification:
  1. (Essential) Fully Qualified Health Play Specialist & registered with HPSET
  2. (Essential) Experience working with babies and children of all ages
  3. (Essential) Experience with babies and children with complex needs
  4. (Essential) Ability to travel around the East Midlands and get to rural locations
