Job Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the development of our occupational therapy services.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and leading a team of occupational therapists to deliver high-quality care to patients.
  • Developing and implementing occupational therapy services to meet the needs of patients and the Trust.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and other healthcare professionals on occupational therapy matters.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures related to occupational therapy.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure the highest standards of care.

Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Graduate or equivalent experience in occupational therapy.
  • Experience of managing change and implementing new services.
  • Experience of budget and financial management.
  • Experience of managing staff and leading teams.
  • High-level verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Written communication skills, including report writing and business case development.
  • IT literacy and knowledge of PAS or equivalent hospital systems.
  • Budgetary, equipment, and resource management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and think strategically.
  • Leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to develop staff and create a positive employment environment.
