Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Site Manager to join our team at STRABAG UK Limited. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing construction site operations, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide site-based leadership and direction to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor and control project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure that projects are delivered within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to their satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all site personnel are competent and trained to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that projects are being delivered in accordance with the project plan and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve project delivery, including process improvements and best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in large construction or civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures, including safety and environmental related issues.
  • Ability to produce, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
  • Successful experience as a section or trade foreman.
  • Ability and confidence to communicate and present to top-level management, senior-level clients, and public.
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the setup and day-to-day running of a construction site.
  • An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking construction projects.
  • HNC/D in Building Studies or Civil Engineering.
  • CSCS Card.
