About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our First Line Technology Risk Management function. As the Head of Technology Risk Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk and control posture of our Global Technology Services (GTS) organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a robust risk and control environment to ensure the effective management of technology risk across the GTS organization.
  • Work closely with second and third line leaders to ensure alignment and effective management of risk and controls.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and processes to ensure the effective management of technology risk.
  • Manage a team of Risk and Control Managers who will be responsible for understanding, assessing, and driving policy compliance, standards, processes, controls, and issues for their respective functions within Technology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective management of technology risk and controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience within the financial services industry, including time spent managing in an executive capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex transformation/remediation programs.
  • Relevant regulated financial service expertise, with an understanding of challenges of running a large-scale Technology transformation program.
  • Strong understanding of process-based business management and risk and controls.
  • Managed cross-border teams based over multiple locations, additional points for experience with strong connectivity to the regulators.
  • Extensive experience in managing large, complex third parties, who are critical to the success of the program.
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with US regulations as well as a strong working level of knowledge of European and Asia Pacific regulations.
  • Masters level technology and/or business qualification is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 25% may be required.
  • Comfortable representing State Street to external partners and industry bodies where appropriate.
  • Experience operating in a highly regulated environment, ideally a large financial institution.
