Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to lead our Rheumatology and Bone Health services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice, with a focus on rheumatology and bone health. They will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical support and advice to our multidisciplinary teams, as well as leading the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the provision of clinical pharmacy services to Rheumatology and Bone Health patients, including the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical support and advice to our multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our clinical teams, including rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services, including the provision of medication therapy management and disease state management.
  • Collaborate with our research team to develop and implement clinical trials and research studies related to rheumatology and bone health.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our pharmacy team, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other support staff.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our pharmacy team, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in clinical pharmacy practice, including new medications, therapies, and technologies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent from a recognized UK provider.
  • Independent prescribing qualification.
  • At least 5 years of post-registration hospital pharmacy practice experience.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Experience of developing and implementing clinical pharmacy services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
