Senior Pharmacist - Pharmacy Homecare Service Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacist to lead our Pharmacy Homecare Service at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the high-cost drugs governance and collaborating with our dedicated team to provide cutting-edge medicines to patients with complex conditions in their homes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Liaise with homecare team members, patients, and external providers to ensure seamless delivery of medication services.
- Manage and analyze data using our Trust systems to inform decision-making and drive service improvement.
- Provide expert advice to patients and staff on homecare issues, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
- Ensure accurate processing and delivery of medicine orders, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Communicate effectively with commissioners regarding funding and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in our service delivery.
- Monitor and audit homecare incidents to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct research and development activities to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice and apply this knowledge to improve our services.
Requirements:
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
- Registration as a pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- Extensive post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy, with a strong focus on leadership and management.
- Proven experience in multidisciplinary team working, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality services and achieving business objectives.
- Specialized knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders, with a deep understanding of the complexities of these conditions.
