Reed HR is partnering with a prominent Educational Establishment in West London to find an experienced HR Manager for a 1-year fixed-term contract.

This is a full-time office-based role with no hybrid working options.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Oversee the entire recruitment process for the establishment, encompassing both teaching and non-teaching staff, including:
    1. Preparing advertisements for local and national press, as well as online platforms.
    2. Organizing application packs for the organization's website.
    3. Responding to inquiries via email and phone.
    4. Coordinating interviews, including inviting candidates, requesting references, preparing schedules, and hosting candidates on the day.
    5. Communicating with candidates regarding the outcome of the recruitment process and drafting letters and contracts of employment for approval.
SCR
  1. Maintain the single central record in accordance with specific regulations to ensure the establishment's compliance and readiness for inspection/Safeguarding audits. Report any areas of concern immediately to the Director of Finance & Ops.
  2. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and procedures are followed for new staff, including teachers, non-teaching staff, peripatetic staff, regular volunteers, and supply staff (both direct and agency).
  3. Accurately maintain and update personal files, records, and HR documentation in line with best practice.
HR Guidance & Procedures
  1. Assist Line Managers in managing employee absence in accordance with the organization's sickness absence and ill health policy, including:
    1. Providing guidance on return-to-work interviews and referrals to Occupational Health as necessary.
    2. Preparing Trust absence returns, ensuring receipt of sickness certificates, and logging details on SIMS and PeopleXD.
    3. Ensuring return-to-work interviews are conducted and recorded.
Administer the receipt and filing of annual PDP/Appraisal Reports.Offer advice to the Head and SLT on HR matters and draft correspondence to staff as required.Provide HR guidance and support to staff, liaising with the Trust HR Business Partner for more complex queries.Review HR policies and procedures, staying up-to-date with legal requirements under the guidance of Trust HR.Liaise with the organization's Legal and HR Department for advice and staying informed about legal developments, advising management on complex and risk factors, and disseminating information to SLT as necessary.Participate in meetings related to whole-company issues, advising Managers and staff on company policy/procedure changes and their impact.Management Responsibilities
  1. Line manage and appraise the Compliance & Welfare Officer, overseeing their responsibilities for regulatory compliance, vetting checks for contractors, and recording and monitoring staff training records.
Payroll
  1. Prepare and input monthly payroll adjustments and individual changes on PeopleXD for Trust return, ready for the Director of Finance and Ops to authorize.
  2. Produce yearly salary letters and ensure payroll paperwork is completed and forwarded to Trust Office.
  3. Update staff changes on PeopleXD from annual information sheets produced to ensure Trust is informed of changes where necessary.
