HR Adviser Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Adviser to join our dedicated team at Michael Page HR. Reporting into the Senior HR Business Partner, you will provide support in all areas of HR, ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior HR Business Partner in all HR-related matters, including performance management, capability issues, disciplinary processes, and grievance investigations.
- Manage attendance and recruitment campaigns, including candidate evaluation and hiring decisions.
- Provide guidance on employee benefits, eligibility, and onboarding activities, including safer recruitment checks and child protection training.
- Produce monthly HR reports and dashboards as required, and report regularly to Principals on key HR metrics.
- Draft letters to support performance, disciplinary, grievance, attendance, and capability processes.
- Support leaders with performance appraisal, threshold, and pay review processes and documentation.
- Provide subject matter expertise for INSET, team events, and training events.
- Keep HR systems and trackers updated in line with SCR, confidentiality, and GDPR requirements.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience working in a HR advisory role within the Education sector.
- Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with staff at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to apply policies and exercise flexibility and judgment to solve HR issues.
- Able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Proficiency in systems such as MS Office, ATS, and HRIS.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a future HR certification, such as CIPD.
