HR Generalist Role

As an HR Generalist at Next Employment, you will play a vital role in supporting the HR Business Partners in managing the day-to-day HR activities across multiple offices in the South of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other team members to identify key priorities and align them with the HR strategy.
  • Manage HR operational activities, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee issues and queries, ensuring compliance with best practices, employment legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in Employee Relations matters, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, and redundancies.
  • Support the HR team in maintaining, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures, as well as job descriptions.
  • Stay up-to-date with UK employment legislation to ensure accurate advice and support to employees and managers.
  • Contribute to engagement initiatives, using data to identify areas for improvement and create action plans to positively influence employee engagement, turnover, and stability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Draft complex contracts of employment in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team and HR Business Partners.
  • Coordinate changes to Terms & Conditions, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records in the HR system and employee files.
  • Handle administration surrounding Family Friendly Leave, advising employees and managers on benefits and obligations.
  • Attend interviews or discussions regarding Family Friendly Leave, Absence, and Return to Work, Flexible Working, Performance Management, and Exit Interviews as required.
  • Support HR Business Partners in handling Disciplinaries, Grievances, Redundancies, TUPE's, or more complex Employee Relations matters.
  • Update and maintain HR letter templates, procedures, and policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with employment law and best practice.

You will need a minimum of 6 months of practical HR experience gained in a fast-moving HR environment, preferably in the financial services or professional services sector. A strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a mature attitude are essential for this role.
