Job Overview
Environmental Standards Scotland is a leading organisation dedicated to ensuring the highest environmental standards in Scotland.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Business Support Officer to join our Comms and Corporate Services team, supporting the effective and efficient delivery of organisational processes and systems.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong IT abilities, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small multidisciplinary team.
About the Role
This challenging yet rewarding role offers a competitive salary of £32,140 per annum, inclusive of a comprehensive benefits package, including membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
You will be responsible for providing executive and secretariat support to senior leaders, coordinating meetings, managing relevant mailboxes, payroll support, and maintaining governance documentation.
Additional duties will include:
- Providing administrative support for general corporate service requirements
- Administering day-to-day finance requirements
- Assisting with stakeholder management
- Supporting the Corporate Services and Communications team
- Providing ad-hoc administrative support to other teams
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
- A strong customer focus, with excellent communications skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative to come up with solutions quickly
Qualifications
The minimum formal qualifications required for this role would be 5 GCSEs or at least 3 years' experience gained working in a similar role. Equivalent qualifications may also be acceptable.
