About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with students who require additional support due to Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Well-being Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting their mental and emotional well-being.

You will work closely with students, teachers, and families to provide the necessary support and encouragement for students to succeed academically and personally. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them build emotional resilience and well-being.
  • Assisting students with coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
  • Helping students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in the school environment.
  • Working closely with teachers, special educational staff, and parents to create and implement individualised support plans.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, self-confidence, and independence among students.
  • Supporting students to manage their mental health needs and providing a safe, supportive space when required.
Required Skills and Qualities

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting young people.
  • Ability to implement tailored support strategies and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH or in a similar well-being or educational role is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students.
