Job Summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Biomedical Support Worker to join our Clinical Microbiology department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the processing of clinical specimens for bacteriological culture and molecular microbiology
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in bacteriology and molecular departments
  • Check sample integrity prior to analysis and receive specimens
  • Book specimens onto the laboratory computer system and answer telephone queries
  • Undertake other tasks as required, including laboratory housekeeping duties
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As an Advanced Biomedical Support Worker, you will work closely with Biomedical Scientists to ensure the efficient processing of specimens and the provision of accurate test results.

Working Pattern

The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. The working hours will be approximately 37.5 hours per week, with occasional early or late shifts.
