Job Summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Biomedical Support Worker to join its Clinical Microbiology department. As a key member of the team, you will assist Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples, rotating throughout the laboratory to perform various tasks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Checking sample integrity prior to analysis
  • Processing clinical specimens for Bacteriological culture
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment in Bacteriology and Molecular departments
  • Receiving specimens, booking specimens onto the laboratory computer system, answering telephone queries, and laboratory housekeeping duties
Working Pattern

The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays, with occasional early and late shifts. The laboratory operates 24/7, with an on-call service providing overnight cover.
