Advanced Biomedical Support Worker

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Biomedical Support Worker to join our Clinical Microbiology department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples.
Main Duties- Assist in the processing of clinical specimens for bacteriological culture and molecular microbiology
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in bacteriology and molecular departments
- Check sample integrity prior to analysis and receive specimens
- Book specimens onto the laboratory computer system and answer telephone queries
- Perform laboratory housekeeping duties and assist with other tasks as required
The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. The current laboratory opening hours are 08:00 to 18:00, with core hours from 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday.
