About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Advanced Biomedical Support Worker to join our Clinical Microbiology department at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples, rotating throughout the laboratory to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our processes.

Key responsibilities include checking sample integrity prior to analysis, processing clinical specimens for Bacteriological culture, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment in Bacteriology and Molecular departments.

Additionally, you will be responsible for receiving specimens, booking specimens onto the laboratory computer system, answering telephone queries, and laboratory housekeeping duties.

Working Pattern: The successful candidate will be required to work on a rotational basis, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays.

Person Specification: To be successful in this role, you will need to have good interpersonal skills, a high degree of self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
