About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused individual to join our clinical research team as a Research Administrator Assistant.

The post holder will work closely with the team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate a portfolio of National Institute Health Research (NIHR) studies, ensuring timely completion and adherence to protocol requirements.
  2. Participate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and maintain GCP compliance for self and team members.
  3. Support ongoing study coordination, including site file maintenance, updating quality systems, and preparing documents for patient visits.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and carers, responding to their queries in a professional and tactful manner.
  5. Book trial-specific investigations and procedures, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and protocols.
  6. Welcome patients to clinic appointments, offering refreshments as needed.
  7. Collect prescriptions or investigation results, maintaining accurate records and communication with patients.
  8. Assist in study close-out procedures, preparing study documents for archiving and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and email.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff and patients.
  • Able to adapt to changing demands, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • An understanding of the clinical research process, including Good Clinical Practice principles.
