About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Research Support Specialist to join our team at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

As a key member of our research delivery network, you will play a crucial role in supporting the rapid set-up and effective conduct of research studies across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly.

Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to identify and set up high-quality NIHR research studies. You will use your expertise to ensure that research is conducted safely and in line with the highest standards, protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to researchers across the South West health community, assisting with study set-up and delivery.
  • Collaborate with our Agile Delivery Staff, Senior Nurses, Research Delivery Managers, and NHS providers to champion and support research.
  • Work closely with our RRDN industry team and clinical experts to manage the feasibility and eligibility of studies, ensuring consistency across the network.
  • Engage in regular travel within the South West Peninsula to build strong relationships with our research partners.

Requirements:

  • An honours degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as healthcare, life sciences, or social sciences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex research projects.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a research or administrative role.
