About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Practitioner to join our team at Norfolk County Council. As a key member of our Family Help service, you will play a vital role in keeping children and young people safe through early intervention.

Your office base will be located at County Hall in Norwich, where you will work closely with families, their networks, and other professionals to address worries, create plans, and empower families to effect change.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of resilience, flexibility, and adaptability. You will need to prioritize tasks, manage your workload, and support the wider team while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor under pressure.

Our service is strengths-based, with the child at the centre of our work. You will need to identify and understand risk, keep it under review throughout the case, and communicate effectively at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload of Family Support cases
  • Offer peer support, coaching, mentoring, and role modelling to practitioners and support to the Team Manager
  • Work closely with families, their networks, and other professionals to address worries, create plans, and empower families to effect change
  • Prioritize tasks, manage workload, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor under pressure
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good IT skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, and databases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of resilience, flexibility, and adaptability
