At Blue Arrow, we are dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a skilled Support Worker to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming and supporting individuals and families as they settle into the community. This will involve working in-person with clients, interpreting as necessary, and providing them with information about available services.

We are looking for someone who is fluent in Dari and English, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. You should also have experience of working with families with support needs, as well as awareness of the experiences and needs of refugees.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide welcome and support to refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced people in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
  • To work in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the service delivered meets the criteria of the resettlement scheme.
  • To understand and assess individual needs, signposting to specialist services as needed, and motivating individuals to access services such as health and education.

You will also be expected to develop good relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, healthcare providers, and other community groups.

We offer a competitive salary of £18.50 per hour, plus the opportunity to work with a dynamic and supportive team. If you are passionate about making a difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements
  • Fluency in Dari and English.
  • Experience of working with families with support needs.
  • Awareness of the experiences and needs of refugees.
  • Excellent communication skills.
