Strategic Category Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Category Leader to join our team at Mitie. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading category strategy development and execution across designated supply categories.

  • Category Strategy & Sourcing: Develop and implement category strategies to achieve best value and cost savings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business needs and align procurement strategies.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish and maintain key performance indicators to track supplier performance and savings.

Key qualifications include a degree or equivalent experience and a robust background in commercial procurement. Proven experience in category management, negotiation, and delivering strategic value is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and P2P systems is required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams. They should be comfortable working in a team setting, with the ability to take the lead on specific subject areas as needed. An analytical mindset and a proactive approach to cost optimisation and continuous performance improvement are key to succeeding in this role.
