About the Position

The Buying Director at Chesterfield County, VA, is a key member of the leadership team responsible for managing a portfolio of over 700 contracts. This position requires strong leadership skills, expertise in public procurement best practices, and experience with e-procurement tools.

Job Description

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviews and oversees work prepared by staff, provides direction and guidance on procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Reviews and oversees work prepared by staff.
  2. Provides direction and guidance on procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract issues.
  3. Trains new staff and assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  4. Acts on behalf of Assistant Director/Director as needed and fills in for Senior level staff on team during absences.
