Relational Database Administrator

Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a skilled Relational Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Oracle database environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the software engineering team to provide support for the Oracle relational database environment.
- Provide consultation on relational database design, implementation, and technical issues to our systems development team.
- Recommend upgrades to Oracle relational databases and ensure database security.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of application systems databases.
- Identify and resolve relational database problems.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of Oracle database design, administration, utility, and tools.
- Skills in the use of laptop computers and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of database systems management, develop Unix scripts, and establish efficient technology environments.
