As an Administrative Assistant for the Commonwealth of Virginia, you will play a vital role in supporting the Administration and Finance Division. This position offers a salary of $42,435 per year, with opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be responsible for various duties, including assisting with daily operations, communicating with internal and external customers, ordering and inventorying supplies, scanning documents, faxing, filing, working in a call center/front desk with customer service, data entry, processing work orders, and troubleshooting issues related to daily operations.

In addition to your administrative responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse customer base from Chesterfield County and Colonial Heights. All agency employees are required to participate on an Emergency Shelter Team, reporting for shelter duty when shelters are activated.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organizational, oral/written communication, strong customer service, professional, and interpersonal skills. You should also have computer experience with word processing, electronic records, and basic spreadsheets, as well as experience with electronic database applications and information systems.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong attention to detail, good time management, the ability to work accurately and timely under pressure, and the ability to compile and review data from multiple systems. The ability to communicate in Spanish, orally and in writing, is preferred.
