Job Title: Court Usher

We are seeking a court usher to join Brook Street on a temporary basis in Chesterfield Town Centre.

About the Role:

The role is full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and expected to run until March 2025. The successful applicant will primarily be ushering within the court.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with judiciary, witnesses, jurors, and other court users with professionalism.
  • Perform administrative duties, data entry, dealing with queries, and preparing juror packs in preparation for trials.
  • Walk jurors to and from court while maintaining social distancing.
  • Prepare court rooms.
  • Provide support to all users of the courts, including those who may be visiting for the first time.
About You:

Ideal candidates will be confident and enjoy interacting with a variety of court users. You will have excellent customer service skills and a passion to help people.

Requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to remain professional at all times and converse with a variety of court users.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £44 per hour, and benefits include holiday pay and a pension scheme. Full training will be given, starting with the basics and meeting and greeting. Once fully trained, you will work in the Chesterfield Courts.

We estimate the annual salary for this role to be around £76,000 based on a 37-hour week and 52 weeks a year.
