About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our dynamic team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Respiratory Medicine department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, including lung cancer, asthma, and COPD.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the expansion of our lung cancer service.
  • Participate in clinical research and audit activities to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide educational and training opportunities for junior medical staff and students.

Person Specification

  • MB BS, MB ChB or equivalent.
  • Higher medical qualification (medical education/teaching and MRCP, MRCGP or equivalent) training.
  • Full current GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT/Specialist Registration in Respiratory and General Medicine or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
