About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine service, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with acute medical conditions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing consultant-delivered care to patients with acute medical conditions
  • Ensuring patient safety, dignity, and care are given the highest priority
  • Leading the development of acute medicine services within the trust
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the acute medicine service at WWL
  • Participating in clinical leadership and supervision, teaching, and training of junior medical staff

Requirements

  • Recent comprehensive experience in Acute Medicine and Respiratory Medicine
  • Experience of Audit and its role in Clinical Governance
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to training and teaching of junior medical staff and other health professionals
