About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Complex Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our elderly patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Geriatric Medicine, working closely with our team to develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of our patients.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of our Elderly Care service, working closely with our clinical director and divisional management team to build and develop your area of interest.
  • Participate in on-call rota, providing 24/7 cover for our patients and working closely with our clinical teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and other health professionals, sharing your expertise and knowledge to develop the skills of our team.

Person Specification

  • CCT in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent
  • Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine
  • Commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner
