Job Overview

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team of forward-thinking Ageing & Complex Medicine Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering and developing our modern and comprehensive Elderly Care service.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and participating in multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of our Elderly Care service. You will work closely with our clinical director and divisional management team to build and develop your area of interest.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine, a CCT in Dual accreditation in GIM and Geriatric Medicine, and a commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals. You must also have a strong ability to work in a flexible manner and demonstrate a commitment to the development of Acute Medical services within the trust.

What We Offer

We offer a 10 PA job plan, with the potential to negotiate additional PA's on an individual basis for the successful candidate. You will also have access to excellent postgraduate and research facilities, supports study leave for CPD, and aids with funding up to an agreed limit. We are an Associated Teaching Hospital of the Edge Hill University and provide training for two Specialist Registrars as part of the Northwest Training rotation.
