Job Overview

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Ageing and Complex Medicine Directorate, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our comprehensive Elderly Care service.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert medical care to patients with complex and acute geriatric needs. This will involve working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, conducting ward rounds, and participating in MDT meetings. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of our Elderly Care service, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Geriatric Medicine, with recent comprehensive experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have a CCT in Geriatric Medicine, with dual accreditation in GIM and Geriatric Medicine. They will also have a proven track record of teaching and training junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
