Job Title: Pedestrian Training Coordinator
About the Role

The Kent County Council's Safer Active Journeys team delivers pedestrian training to primary schools in Kent, aiming to reduce child pedestrian casualties and promote healthy walking habits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities of Small Steps and related programs in your local district.
  • Liaise with selected schools to schedule and deliver pedestrian training schemes, working closely with parent volunteers and Project Officers.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for suitable training sites within walking distance of schools, accurately recording findings.
  • Deliver engaging and effective Pedestrian Training sessions to groups of children, utilizing parent volunteers as necessary.
  • Maintain precise records of training delivered, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Participate in promotional events for the Small Steps project as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have prior experience working with children in an educational setting and be able to work on a zero-hours contract, setting your own availability in consultation with the Project Officer and schools.
