Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with Type 2 diabetes, working in primary care across the country.

About the Role:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients with Type 2 diabetes, including optimising oral therapy and conducting point-of-care testing.
  • Work proactively to identify sub-optimally controlled patients and refer them for specialist insulin treatment where necessary.
  • Exercise corporate nursing responsibilities and contribute to the development of local and national Diabetes guidelines (NG28).

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience managing diabetes within primary care.
  • Knowledgeable and confident in providing education, support, and advice to people with Type 2 Diabetes.
  • Full driving licence and current NMC registration.

Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary for this role is estimated at £45,000, plus a range of benefits including an annual bonus incentive scheme, car allowance, company pension, and private medical insurance.

Working Arrangements:

The standard working day would be approximately 6 hours, with travel time to and from practice locations. Maximum travel time would not exceed 2 hours.
