Job Description

This Chaplaincy Volunteer role requires engaging with patients, relatives, staff, and chaplaincy colleagues, regardless of denomination, gender, faith, or belief. You will contribute a couple of hours a week, developing relationships and providing spiritual care to those in need.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with patients, listening to their stories and promoting the Chaplaincy's work
  • Build relationships with patients, staff, and visitors
  • Pray with patients if requested or refer them to the Chaplain for further care
  • Some volunteers take Holy Communion to the bedside, if licensed to do so by their denomination
  • Participate in team discussions and training as required
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in pastoral visiting
  • Active member of faith or pastoral group
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Estimated Salary: £18-20 per hour
