Spiritual Care Opportunities at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking a Chaplaincy Volunteer to join our team, providing spiritual care to patients, relatives, staff, and chaplaincy colleagues. As a valued member of our team, you will contribute a couple of hours a week, engaging with patients, listening to their stories, and promoting the Chaplaincy's work.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop relationships with patients, staff, and visitors, while also participating in team discussions and training as required. Your ability to work collaboratively within a team and your flexibility in a fast-paced environment are essential qualities for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with patients, listening to their stories and promoting the Chaplaincy's work
  • Build relationships with patients, staff, and visitors
  • Pray with patients if requested or refer them to the Chaplain for further care
  • Some volunteers take Holy Communion to the bedside, if licensed to do so by their denomination
  • Participate in team discussions and training as required
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in pastoral visiting
  • Active member of faith or pastoral group
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Estimated Salary: £18-20 per hour
