Fire Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at McDonald Road Fire Station on a part-time basis, working 17 hours per week.

  1. Carry out regular fire risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
  2. Conduct site surveys and examine fire safety measures and strategies in place.
  3. Identify potential fire hazards and develop effective mitigation and prevention plans.
  4. Prepare and issue comprehensive fire safety reports, including statistical analysis.
  5. Provide expert guidance on fire safety policies, legislation, and best practices.
  6. Maintain accurate records of daily activities and contribute to the overall management of fire safety information.
  7. Participate in internal and external training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  8. Advocate for a culture of fairness, equality, and health and safety within the organization.
  9. Meet established performance targets and KPIs.

**Estimated Salary Range:** £28,000-£38,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

To excel in this role, applicants must possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety laws, regulations, and standards, including the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and related ordinances.
  • Excellent digital skills for data analysis and presentation.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and report results from technical tasks.

Candidates should consider completing relevant courses, such as Fire Safety Enforcement and Legislation, holding certifications in Fire Safety or Health and Safety, or possessing experience in fire safety inspections.

A valid UK driving license and ability to travel are essential requirements for this position.
