About the Role

As a Senior Meat Inspection Coordinator, you will play a critical part in ensuring our production and production meet the food safety and quality standards at our Further Processing Plant.

You will oversee a group of inspectors responsible for inspecting meat product from all incoming meat suppliers, working on the AM shift with flexibility needed as per business requirement.

Daily Tasks
  1. Lead a team providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure effective and efficient inspection operations
  2. Ensure that all inspection protocols and procedures are followed, thoroughly examining meat products for safety, quality, and adherence to standards
  3. Train and develop the team to enhance understanding of inspection protocols and trends relevant to food safety
  4. Oversee the inspection findings and maintain accurate records
  5. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including production staff, Quality teams, and planners to address adherence to plan and inspection-related issues
  6. Ensure meat delivery in time to production teams to adhere to production plan
  7. Conduct daily stocktakes in the meat inspection room and report on errors
  8. Execute the site's plan with ongoing measurement of performance, achievement of scheduled deadlines, and allocating resources appropriately
  9. Liaise with your Supervisor and identify and manage Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards, and risks

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum

Requirements
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry in a Team Leader position
  • Experience in food manufacturing and/or the FMCG industry will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work in a cold environment
  • Proven communication and leadership skills to lead a team
  • Drive the continual improvement of both processes and people
  • A desire to build team capability through training and transfer of knowledge
  • Computer literate and comfortable using the MS suite
  • Experience managing information related to raw materials, product-in-process, packaging materials, finished products, or packed stock
  • Familiarity with GMP Compliance
  • Experience driving positive cultural change
