About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veteran Peer Support Worker to join our team at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Veteran Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support services to ex-military personnel, empowering them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic support to veterans, addressing their mental health, social, and practical needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a clinical specialist to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Facilitate access to community services and resources, promoting independence and self-management.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of peer support services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of veterans.
Requirements
  • A recognized qualification in a relevant field or equivalent technical/life skills.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Understanding of the culture, issues, and needs of ex-service personnel and knowledge of veteran agencies.
  • Ability to maintain boundaries and form positive therapeutic relationships with hard-to-engage service users and carers.
