About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic individual to join our team as a Peer Supporter. As a Peer Supporter, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are experiencing mental distress, drawing on your own experiences to provide guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support sessions to help individuals identify their strengths, set goals, and develop action plans
  • Facilitate group peer support sessions to promote a sense of community and connection
  • Develop and deliver training and workshops on mental health and wellbeing
  • Signpost individuals to local services and activities that can support their recovery
  • Provide emotional and practical support to individuals as they prepare to move on from using our services
Requirements
  • Personal experience of mental distress and/or using mental health services
  • Ability to share personal experiences of mental distress and self-management strategies as/when appropriate
  • Passion for empowering individuals experiencing mental distress and promoting peer support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to problem-solve, be proactive, and resourceful in supporting individuals
