About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Peer Support Worker to join our team at Together for Mental Wellbeing. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental distress in the Merton borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group peer support to individuals, drawing on your own lived experience of mental distress to inform your practice.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to develop holistic wellbeing plans that focus on their strengths and skills.
  • Facilitate group peer support sessions, workshops, and activities that promote a sense of solidarity and tackle isolation.
  • Support individuals in developing tools and strategies to self-manage their mental health.
Requirements
  • Have lived experience of mental distress and be able to draw on this experience to inform your practice.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with individuals and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work in a community-based setting and adapt to changing circumstances.
