We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Peer Employment Specialist. This role is ideal for someone with personal experience of recovery from mental health challenges, including accessing secondary mental health services such as rehabilitation services, supported accommodation, and in-patient mental health services.

You will be responsible for leading group or 1:1 peer support sessions, assisting clients in crisis, recovery planning, and wellbeing. Our comprehensive training program includes Peer Worker Foundation Training and the accredited 'Developing Expertise in Peer Support' Level 4.

As a Peer Employment Specialist, you will work within a dynamic, recovery-focused team with regular supervision and opportunities for personal development. You will enjoy 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with service, and access to the NHS Pension Scheme.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Sharing your personal experience of accessing rehab services, supported accommodation, and inpatient care to inspire service users in their recovery journey.
  2. Leading group or 1:1 peer support sessions, assisting clients in crisis, recovery planning, and wellbeing.
  3. Benefiting from comprehensive training, including Peer Worker Foundation Training and the accredited 'Developing Expertise in Peer Support' Level 4.
  4. Working within a dynamic, recovery-focused team with regular supervision and opportunities for personal development.

  6. Building relationships with clinical teams to generate referrals and create collaborative working partnerships with clinical staff, ensuring a multi-disciplinary team approach to supporting individuals to get back to work.
  7. Maintaining a professional relationship with the clients of the programme and with other staff, with particular attention to confidentiality, trust policies and maintenance of professional standards.
  8. Working flexibly as required by the individual and employer which may require some working out of normal office hours.
  9. Adhering to administrative and data capture protocols which record the progress of individuals, and keeping accurate and complete records of casework.
  10. Adhering to CNWL Employment Services policies and service standards.
  11. Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work or achieve other recovery and inclusion goals.

Desirable qualifications include:

  1. Experience and knowledge of the benefits agency and all disability/employment related benefits.
  2. Accredited certificate in Life Coaching.
  3. Undertaken peer support worker training (preferably accredited).

Essential qualifications include:

  1. Educated to a degree level (in any sector) or equivalent workplace experience, this can include experience within the health and social care sector or experience within employment support services.

Desirable qualifications include:

  1. Mentorship or clinical supervision training.
