Vision for Education - Newcastle has a vacancy for a Behaviour Support Specialist to work in our Good Pupil Referral Unit based in North Tyneside. This is a long-term full-time role from November ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour, as well as a passion for the progress of SEND secondary school pupils. They will also have strong communication skills, be able to work as part of a team, and be able to deal with fast-paced situations.
The Behaviour Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting pupils with SEMH issues, developing strategies to help them succeed in mainstream school, and building bridges in the relationships between students and their mainstream school. The role will involve working in small class sizes and will require a high level of patience, understanding, and empathy.
