Behaviour Support Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are a leading education recruitment agency, Prospero Teaching, seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team at a secondary school in Warrington. As a key member of the support staff, you will provide vital support to students who require additional help in managing their emotions and behaviours.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive comprehensive training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and implementing behaviour plans to support students with complex needs.
  2. Working closely with teaching staff to identify strategies to support student learning and wellbeing.
  3. Providing person-centred support to students, including one-to-one support and group work.
  4. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to helping vulnerable young people achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  1. Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  2. Be able to work full-time Monday to Friday.
  3. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  4. Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
