About the Role

This is a new substantive 8PA role within the Paediatric team based at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will support the development of a Paediatrics Rapid Access Clinic (RAC) to improve urgent and emergency care offered to children who attend the Emergency Department or are referred to Paediatrics by Primary Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of twice weekly Rapid Access Clinics
  • Contribution to the senior Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) rota during the week and at weekends
  • Non-urgent child protection medical assessments
  • Development of the RAC service, including guidance and pathways needed to improve the care that is provided for children with acute presentations
