About the Role

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Staffing Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Medical Staffing Team, you will be responsible for promoting excellence in customer service and providing proactive, comprehensive, and professional day-to-day HR support services to our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the recruitment of all Senior Medical and Dental Staff, including Consultants, Specialty and Specialist Doctors (SAS), GPs, and Leadership positions.
  • Organize and attend Consultant interviews (Advisory Appointments Committees), take interview notes, and ensure interview standards are adhered to.
  • Answer and resolve complex enquiries, providing advice and guidance to managers and staff on best practice associated with HR policies and procedures.
  • Be an expert in Junior Doctors' terms and conditions, working with department Rota Co-ordinators to build and authorize Junior Doctor rotas.
  • Be an expert in Consultant and SAS Terms and Conditions, dealing with queries related to consultant job planning and pay progression.
  • Lead on the annual rotational Doctor in Training onboarding.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent administrative and organizational skills, along with the ability to analyze situations, problem-solve, and provide solutions. You must be able to work to tight deadlines and be assertive when required. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to manipulate spreadsheets and produce reports are also essential.
