About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Land & Partnerships team as a Graduate Land role. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and securing sites for residential development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of potential land opportunities, including market research, planning, technical, and legal appraisals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, registered providers, institutional investors, land agents, landowners, Homes England, and other developers to identify opportunities for the company.
  • Assist the Land team in overseeing the development process, from acquisition to completion, including planning and condition discharge.
  • Visit sites with the Land team to record the situation on the ground and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the legal process of purchasing land and liaise with solicitors to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Brief external consultants and other departments on scheme progress, from bid to exchange and completion.
  • Provide administrative support to the Land team, including preparing and lodging planning applications.
  • Update landowners, agents, and partners on scheme progress and planning applications.
  • Attend Land department meetings and take minutes or notes.
  • Represent United Living Group at internal and external events.
Requirements
  • Knowledge or interest in residential development and planning application procedures.
  • Personable with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and risks, and work independently when required.
  • Good problem-solving skills and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Competent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Good financial and commercial acumen.
  • Able to handle pressure well and work to tight deadlines.
  • Relevant degree in a related field, such as property, planning, or land.
  • Ability to travel, with a valid driving license.
