Instrumentation and Automation Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Automation Technician to join our Water Production Operations Team in the SE London region.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, maintain, and repair water production assets, including level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors.
- Work with technology, including SCADA systems, associated PLCs, and process control networks.
- Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as needed.
- Investigate asset failures and implement repairs to avoid interruptions to the water supply process.
- Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.
- A strong practical understanding of operational assets and control systems.
- A solid understanding of SCADA systems.
- Fully versed with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Alan Bradley), including management and programming.
- Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams, with previous experience of inverter drives.
- HNC/Level 4 education or 6+ years' experience, including time served apprenticeship in Control, Instrumentation, and Automation.
- A valid driving licence, as the position requires working across several sites in the assigned region.
- A safety-conscious mindset and self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves in the team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
- Competitive salary up to £45,600 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
