About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Automation Technician to join our team in the South East London region. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, maintain, and repair water production assets, including level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors.
  • Work with technology, including SCADA systems, associated PLCs, and process control networks.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as necessary.
  • Investigate asset failures and implement repairs to avoid interruptions to the water supply process.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.

Requirements:

  • A strong practical understanding of operational assets and control systems is essential.
  • A solid understanding of SCADA systems.
  • Fully versed with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Alan Bradley) management and programming.
  • An HNC/Level 4 education or 6+ years' experience in Control, Instrumentation, and Automation, including a time-served apprenticeship.
  • A valid driving license is required for working across multiple sites in the assigned region.

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Working on installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of water production assets.
  2. Collaborating with technology experts to optimize processes and equipment.
  3. Liaising with contractors and suppliers.
  4. Investigating asset failures and implementing repairs.
  5. Providing technical advice and training support.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary up to £45,600 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities can increase earnings potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 days with length of service (plus bank holidays), a contributory pension scheme, personal medical assessments, and a wider benefits scheme.
